Assessing and managing risks – COVID-19 work health and safety for small business
COVID-19 has changed the way we all live and work. But the world of small business keeps turning.
A COVID-19 work health and safety risk assessment is an essential step for small businesses, to identify and manage risks to you, your staff, and customers.
When conducting a risk assessment, ask yourself:
What are the hazards?
What harm could it cause someone, and how likely is it?
What is the level of risk?
What can I do to manage the risks?
How will the risk be reviewed and monitored, to ensure that control measures are working, and check for new hazards?
Risk management is ongoing – be sure to assess any new or changed risks arising from COVID-19, like risks from customer aggression, high work demand or working in isolation.
You must talk to your workers. Together you can identify the risks and work out how to manage them.
Let’s all keep the world of small business turning. For more information, head to the website.
